The next part of the ReThink the Drink project will include videos featuring women sharing their personal stories. These stories can be about your own experiences with drinking, how it has affected your life and what strategies you have used to reduce the amount you drink. Alternatively, your story may be about your thoughts on how we can begin to think about changing drinking cultures within the lesbian, bisexual and queer women's (trans and gender diverse inclusive) communities.
We know that sharing our stories is not only empowering for the storyteller, but also a great way to help others see they are not alone. We acknowledge that your time is precious and, should you decide to participate, you will be remunerated.
We are collecting stories in two ways:
Sharing your personal story via video is one of the most inspirational ways to help others see they are not alone. Every care will be taken to assist you in telling your story this way, including the option of one on one counselling support if you feel this would be helpful. You will also have final say over what will be uploaded. If you are interested in telling your story via video, contact us and we will talk you through the process.
We are also accepting written stories. In this space you can also choose to remain anonymous. You can find examples of stories women have already shared at the link below.
Additionally, if you do choose to participate, you will also have the right to have your video content or story removed from the website at any time without any issues.
